oops!

Libby kept asking for snacks yesterday, and Mom kept telling her we were out.

Finally, Libby decided she would "show" Grandma Leela. She went to the fridge herself, then came back and said, "Leela! We gotta go to da store! We outta ev'ry-tang!"

Poor little thing. I'm still laughing about it. I told them both that I would stop for milk and fruit on the way home, but Libby is a tenacious little bug. Leela ended up buying goldfish, graham crackers, teddy grahams, and chocolate chip cookies. Apart from the graham crackers, those are not items we generally stock anyway, so I think the persistance might have caused Leela to need a snack too.

Mommy guilt

Libby threw up this morning. I really can't believe she's been so sick the last couple of weeks. She was never ever sick before I went back to work. I can't help but feel guilty about that. I only got to see my kids for an hour tonight before bedtime. Poor us. They were really tired though.

Well thanks for the report!

Libby's poop issues are resolved. They were actually resolved about four days before Mom or I realized it though, because she was only going during Daddy time. Paul is home alone with the kids for a few hours after Mom leaves but before I get home. She tried to wait for me, but couldn't hold it any longer. This was fine, but he failed to mention that she was pooping just fine, so Mom and I kept "treating" the "problem". We were terribly stumped and astounded that she could still be so constipated, considering the amount of flax meal, juice and vegetables that she was eating! Paul finally complained about the runny poop in the training pants mess he'd had to deal with. It was then that he clued me in to the fact that she'd been having regular stools for a few days, just on his shift. I pointed out that the mess would have been less had he clued us in a little sooner. He likes to save the rinsing out of the laundry for me anyway, so he gets no sympathy.

They don't call it anal retentive for nothing

Libby is constipated. I've been giving her flax meal and prune juice, limiting dairy, plenty of fiber. I'm running out of ideas. It seems to be an anal retentive joke gone awry. She doesn't want to poop unless I'm home, and now she can't poop at all.
