consolidation

I thought it would be cool to have individual blogs for each kid, but it's proved too time consuming and I've neglected them. I'm in the process of consolidating everything to one blog, but in the meantime the most current posts can be found here:

Bedtime conversation

Libby: "Daddy so mean when he yells"

Mommy: "Oh, he's not trying to be mean, he just gets upset. He's like Shrek."

Libby: (giggle) "Yeah, he's so funny!"

Libby: "Why Daddy no play his 'venture game?" (World of Warcraft)

Mommy: "Because he's playing his other game with his friends."

Libby: "Ohhhhh, I want him to play his 'venture game"

Mommy: "He'll play tomorrow"

Libby: "Good!"

My baby is a WoW head!

Drift Away...

She doesn't care whether she's got the words right. This is her favorite song to sing.

What she's singing:

"Gimme the people and free dat soul, Wanna get lost in da rock n roll, Drift Away"

The real lyrics:

"Give me the beat boys and free my soul, I want to get lost in your rock and roll and Drift Away..."

Ehh, six of one, half dozen of the other!

Another Libbism, heard tonight while playing with a Happy Meal toy:

"This is freaking cool!"

I love my little goof ball.

How big?

"Mommy, am I big enough to hatch an egg?"

"No, you're not quite big enough to crack an egg."

"Ohhh, but the man at the ferris wheel said I was!"

Edited after the doctor's visit, see below

Libby has a rash that looks suspiciously like Chicken Pox. That would explain the fever and the lethargy, huh?

Here we go....

We did not get much sleep last night. They are not sleeping well because of their coughs. I am not sleeping well because they aren't. I got about four horus of patched together sleep on the couch in between whining and crying and coughing. My alarm didn't go off and I staggered out the door to work ten minutes after my mom woke us up coming through the front door.

Still not sure whether it's chicken pox. It hasn't spread much, and her blisters aren't very blistery. She only has it on her chest. It's been 14 years since I've dealt with the pox o'chicken. Ari does have a rash today though. I'd be ok with chicken pox. I prefer they have them before school age. The doctor was noncommittal...there's another side effect of the chicken pox vaccine: younger doctors really don't know what it looks like firsthand.

We will just treat it symptomatically, whatever it is. We were given prescriptions for cough medicine and antibiotics, in case the beginning bronchitis that he heard today worsens, and he knows I will use my own judgement in deciding when and if to fill the rx. I love our doctor.

sick day

Libby and Ari are still sick, still coughing, running fever, and very, very cranky. Ari isn't sleeping well either, which means neither am I. I decided I'd better call in last night, and I'm glad I did. He woke up at 9:00 and stayed up until a little after 11:00. Then he woke up again at 3:00 and I couldn't get him back to bed until almost 5:00.
